CNET reviews FR-S

Wasn't sure if anyone posted this up yet or if anyone cares about CNET but none the less news is news and here it is.

The reviewer is a moron...see this quote:

"The car is at its best in a set of tight turns. Track day hopefuls will quickly wish they had bought an M3."

Really? Well if I could afford to track an M3 with it's uber expensive replacement tires and brakes, I don't think I would be cross-shopping this car...:slap:

***Not too mention the M3 is much heavier (albeit much more powerful) and offers a different driving experience altogether.

Besides, the M3 is what 60-65K...yeah, it should be better for that cost...

lol i like how he leaves out the fact that an m3 is more than double the price.

cnet sucks

Thanks for sharing, OP.

One thing I like about the reviewer is that he's naturally critical of the car he reviews... Maybe not the most positive personality, and not someone who we'd want to agree with completely... But helps us view a different perspective, I suppose.

only on the edit:intewebs will someone pick out 1 silly comment to gripe about. Let's not forget the summary:

Stars: 4/5
- Comfort: 6.0/10
- Performance: 8.0/10
- Design: 7.0/10

The good: The 2013 Scion FR-S handles beautifully, with extremely well-tuned suspension and steering gear. Digital audio sources include HD Radio, Bluetooth streaming, iPod, and USB drive.
The bad: Low torque leads to mild starts and not much thrust out of a turn. The available Bespoke head unit only integrates apps and navigation with the iPhone 4 or better.
The bottom line: The 2013 Scion FR-S is a fun sports car, excellent in the turns but lacking big thrust, while the cabin tech upgrade looks intriguing for iPhone users.

Also remember that CNET reviews everything from a technology perspective, thus why the good, bad AND summary include significant mention of mobile/audio integration.

If an M3 cost that much here I probably would have bought one. They are about $150K on road over here

:-(

"Only on this forum"...you haven't been on the internet long have you?

Go back to the perfect little rational communities you inhabited before...you know, the ones under the bridge.

I agree, the comment is silly, and that's why I trashed it.

ngabdala 07-29-2012 07:08 AM

I agree. The OP should check out the MS3 and Evo forums. They will destroy you if you are a new member.

I love this quote: "Scion offers the FR-S with a six-speed automatic, but there is a special place in hell for people who choose that option." baahahaha

rice_classic 07-29-2012 12:46 PM

The MOST important question to ask is:

WTF is CNET doing reviewing cars??!! Get back to reviewing video cards and anti-virus software please!

ngabdala 07-29-2012 12:54 PM

Lol yeah. Awhile back I joined needing some info on a Evo X and another time for an Evo IX and they destroyed me and calling me a troll too :mad0260:
