Is the AT different between the 2019 86GT and BRZ?
Hi guys,
I am not an expert in the transmission and wanted to ask you guys whether there is a difference between the two? Toyota describes its automatic as "6-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), sequential shift mode with Dynamic Rev Management and paddle shifters" and Subaru as "AT with smooth shifting manual shift mode technology" Is there anything worth to consider in these descriptions? Thanks |

From what I know, the trans are both sourced from Toyota's lexus IS platform |
Of course there is a difference, the AT in the 86 is better -
:D humfrz |
The only difference is that Toyota obviously likes to use more buzzwords in the description.

That's just how Toyota likes to bill their autos.

The differences between the cars are with the exterior (mainly front fascia and badges), some interior trim bits and suspension tuning.
The rest is pretty much the same. |
