Hey guys just curious to know if anyone has any idea if the TRD variant will ever be launched here?

NO High hopes......asked AL Futtaim Abu Dhabi and it seems no plans yet!!! they are focusing more on the corollas and camrys that sells like hot cake here :(

I had inboxed Toyota UAE on facebook and they said the TRD kit is out but I'm assuming they are talking about the body kits?

yeah, basically you can build the TRD version yourself by getting all the parts. But it will be VERY EXPENSIVE.

I think there is 1 demo car in Toyota DIFC with the TRD aero kit, minus the rear spoiler/bumper/exhaust/rims. The fitting was not good though.

I am not sure if 86 is selling well here, especially with the 86 top auto version priced 125K. People would rather buy Mustang/Camaro/Hyundai V6 with that money.
Only the manual price hits the sweet spot.

Well I asked them to elaborate on what they meant and apparently they said there are two kits coming in shortly a performance and body kit.
I think the demo in the DFC showroom is the same one they had on display at the launch event. At that time the rumour was that they were going to sell it soon. :iono:

I think that is still same poorly partial build only like the demo car in festival city.
The complete TRD 86 edition should come with bigger brakes, bucket seats.

As far as I understand there is no "TRD" car coming out from factory at Japan. It is the responsibility of each dealer to build the TRD version from the normal stock car.

Example here is the Toyota NZ building and selling their own 20 units of TRD 86

Like I said earlier, you can build your own TRD version by installing all the TRD parts or if AFM will be kind enough to install it for us.

I've passed by a Firestorm 86 this morning at Al Nahyan area who flashed me a headlight as acknowledgement. Just want to say hello as I wasn't able to respond. :-)

What time do you plan to go and from which area will you be leaving?

I should be leaving around 9 AM. i live in Al Qusais so we could meet up at Mirdiff city center and head out from there.

I was wondering if we can arrange a skid pad session in dubai autodrome or yas marina circuit. I think you as owners need to see the real feel of your cars. Maybe this could be done through 86cult?

I am planning to buy the citizen 86 watch there. Seems the price is way more cheaper compared to Dubai. Maybe I can get it for AED 1200.

there is a page in face book called 86 Culture i think you should join them as i did they constantly arranges gathering and there is a up coming gathering on two weeks from now which will on Saturday.
