hey RevoG, thanks mate. havent got mine yet. hope to get it by this week. i tested it and it sure did make me smile.... ear to ear. :) |
Hi guys,
is it really normal here to wait a week for a car that is already in stock? I booked the car on Sunday/10th from SZR showroom and in the purchase agreement it is mentioned that approximate delivery date is today/16th. I checked again today and they said that car is still in stock yard/Jebel Ali, and most likely will only be ready on Monday/18th. They are saying that the car needs to be checked first (PDI) and there is long queue to deliver new car to each dealers. Blablabla. This is my first time buying a new car here, and I know approximate delivery date can vary, but basis my experience in my home country dealers only need 2-3 days to deliver new car. Any thoughts? |

i paid my downpayment on 14/3 and they said delivery will be 17/3. i hope it doesnt get delayed... mine from airport road AD. what colour r u gettin? |

had a call from salesman, my car is in the showoom already, but i can only collect on tuesday....:bonk: |
Thanks for your reply. I asked for the silver color.
Best of luck for both of us. Hopefully no more delays. |
finally got my car today.
So far car runs great, still keeping it below 4K RPM. All reviews mentioning about low torque but for daily city drive I think it's still ok. Clutch pedal travel is a bit far, need more time to adjust my driving style. |

congrats man! happy for you. now im loosing weight cos i cant eat n sleep.... btw do you plan to get a new exhaust system or plan to get a exhaust tip |

Don't worry about the torque - the engine takes a good 5-7k and a couple of oil changes to get broken in. Just be gentle and she'll just get faster :) For reference, here's mine :) http://imgur.com/A3WsauR.jpg |
@AbsolutKev86 : thanks, you will get it soon.
I always been the guy who likes the car as it was designed, so I will ask for the exhaust tips when I do the 1K service. So far not planning to buy other things. @86 Legend : thanks mate. @i_giado : thanks, love your writings for ME motoring. |

From the website I think only 2 types available. Auto and Manual. Both are getting the toyota mid options. My guess the price is somewhere between 120-130? |
Al khoory is selling the manual BRZ for AED 106k. This model comes with all the good stuff you find in the mid-range auto 86 for AED 115k..
And another manual BRZ model for AED 112K with alcantara leather seats. |

I wish I saved a bit more. I don't really care about the HID, knee pads, cruise control, frameless mirror or even 17' rims. My last car was with 17' and I think 16' is still better for daily drive. But I want that push start button and the digital speedometer/shift light :(:( |
I think the same but to be honest, I find those gadgets not much of a necessity and I would not like to put more than a 100K on this car.. Yeah the gauges are nice, I would like them to exist..
I personally plan to take mine for autocross occasionally so I will settle for 16"s, the tires will be dirt cheap and you know you want cheap tires if you play often with such a car.. The only thing that puts me off about Toyota is the fact their after sales are shit and they are over charging for oil changes and routine servicing without providing any explanation.. We have like a dozen of 86 owners already complaining about it, and are working on raising a petition about fixing this problem.. Also, I heard that Subaru actually are a bit more decent when it comes to after sales; from a previous Subaru owner who currently owns an 86. |

my first service is due in next few weeks.
LOL yeah I know still 750km now. I don't drive much, plus my office is just few blocks from my flat. Just a bit wondering which workshop is better, SZR or DFC? |
SZR is too busy when it comes to booking appointments, didn't try DFC.
|
Yeah still have not tried dfc.. Better book it earlier so they an provide you a good slot..
