What mods can you to do your car that qualify as legal?

This my Friend is long discussion. ill just go with the simple mods intakes exhaust coil overs tune headers is ok on most emirates but not sharjah.

hu guys, new owner here, going to have my white pearl 86 this sunday, a gtx 86 manual, my first brand new car (after my rice car sentra). already been reading many posts from you guys, planning to change the exhausts right away after I pick up. is that ok?
I just have a few questions, it would be a lot of help if you could answer.

1. For those who have a greddy evo 3 exhaust installed by one thousand dunes, how is the noise? do you get stop by the police? how about sharjah police?

2. I'm a ricer (filipino haha) so im planning to have a carbon fiber hood and trunk (black and white addict) is that allowed here in dubai? same question as nmber 1. will i get pulled over by changing my hood and trunk?


I'd love to have many mods but too scared of being caught or stop by the police. thanks guys I would love to join your gatherings

For point number 2 - Well I have seen a lot of cars with CF vinyl on their hoods, and don't seem to have any issues with the cops. So go right ahead.

If you know when and where to go easy on the throttle, I'm sure the cops wont bother you and your loud exhaust :)

Hi Paul, sorry to bother you again. I tried calling Obet, however the number was not reachable. I tried the FB page of Gulf Foil as well, No luck :(

Checked with foilacar, they quoted me 11k AED for clear vinyl and 14k for a matt finish color etc.

Can you help me out with Obet's number again? Hoping for a cheaper price, or atleast a partial wrap that protects the essential parts at the very least. Foilacar did not agree/recommend to a partial wrap.

First welcome to the club and congrats for your new ride. You will deffffffffnetily enjoy it every time you start it. I have an firestorm 86 since more than a year now and I installed a greddy evo3 exhaust in one thousand dune. To be honest my car is not my daily driver since I live where I work :( so just completed 15k after one year and I enjoy the exhaust sound a lot. It is loud on idle when cold then it becomes bearable but even fun to hear. Not sure if you drive it everyday and for Long distances but so far I have never complained even when I am driving it back and forth to Dubai. With regards to Police, I never faced a problem or was stopped here in Abu Dhabi however I try to behave when I see a police car :)
I would recommend you go for it and enjoy it.

I would follow your advice, ill have it installed then, this is my daily driver and im not really used to having fast cars with a good torque and throttle response, never even tried driving any car with a v8 or 2.0 liter above. I driven many cars, vans but not that fast. For me this car is fast since it's my first trying a 2.0 liter .

I passed by two different 86 in Al Qusais , yesterday night and some days ago, a gray one with a carbon fiber hood(I drooled) and a pearl white like mine but with different rims. and also a blue brz in Al nahda parked near al madina.

Hope we have a meetings to all 86 in UAe/Dubai. :) I wasn't able to come for the japan meet.
