Quiet 3" Exhaust for Turbo FRS

Hi All,

I've been scouring the internet for a setup that is quiet for FI applications.

I am currently running the Perrin 3" catback but I find that it is still loud.

My previous exhausts have been the Magnaflow 2.5" exhaust (was okay) and the MXP Comp RS which deafened me daily.

I'm looking to have one custom-made locally, but am looking for muffler and/or resonator recommendations.

Right now, I have a pair of S2000 mufflers and am looking to have them custom fabricated to the perrin 3" midpipe.

Not sure if it matters, but I run the AVO turbo.

If it's too loud, why not find a 2.5" exhaust? Yeah you'll lose some power since the turbo can't breathe as well, but maybe that's something to consider if your car makes you uncomfortable. That Perrin exhaust, from what I've read, is the quietest brand name exhaust made in 3" diameter. You could run a cat to quiet things down but again, losing power from a flow restriction.

Vibrant makes quality stuff; if you're looking to add resonators/ mufflers, I'd start there

CSG spec.

I had a Perrin 3" resonated and it blew out and was real loud after a short amount of time.

CSG doesn't make a 3" though.

Vibrant performance makes a good resonator.

If you can fine a used Perrin exhaust that would be my pick.

How much power are you looking to make? If it's not 500-600whp, then you don't need a 3" catback; CSG's competition cat back will be perfect. It's what I'm running on my 400whp setup and it sounds perfect. Definitely quieter than the Perrin catback I had before.

S2000 mufflers are smaller than the stock 63mm.

The CSG Touring 86 is the quietest larger diameter exhaust you will find, and won't choke your car unless you're making some pretty crazy power.

Most FI cars have found that the Touring86 gives a power increase, although the catback is advertised as zero gains.

Not to resurrect a dead thread, but I’m using a 3” XForce catback and with my turbo, it makes about the same (or less) noise than the stock exhaust NA.

I’m currently running the Perrin 3” with my jdl turbo kit with a 3” full system. I can not stand the drone from 2700-3400 rpm especially on deceleration. I’m going to try the csg touring system. But wondering if their system will mate to my 3” jdl down pipe.

It's only a catback so it'll just mount to whatever front pipe you have.
