Subaru to be called "2000 RS"?
Interesting if the case. This is taken from the website automoto posted in the other thread.

Not sure what word they translated to appellation since that word doesn't really fit the translation. Maybe it meant copy-right/trademark or some other term similar to that? http://translate.google.com/translat...e-6488896.html |
Subaru 2000 RS have been known for a while. iirc they was a thread bout that already. Subaru licensed it bout same time as Toyota licensed 86 emblem
Edit: Found the site http://www.ipo.gov.uk/t-find-number?...emark=E9226101 & thread #7 post http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ht=subaru+2000 |
^ I did a quick title search and nothing came up with 2000 rs. Tried a topic search but none of the thread titles made it easy to find.

At least I tried :search: before I posted, right? |
True, that's why I didn't write :search: cuz I'm pretty sure you'll search before hand.

Reminiscent of the 2.5RS?
The GC that is..or GM in this case |
Could be. 2000 should stand for 2000cc which is 2.0L.

I'm waiting for a patent, seems to be the only sure way for a name.

There is this UK trade mark: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/t-find-number?...emark=E9226101 |
Im not sure.... RS has always stood for 'Rallye Sport'.... i dont think a RWD car is even remotely competitive in modern WRC.
Unless there is a 4WD FT86 on the horizon? There were rumours of Toyota returning to WRC...:iono: Would be great to see a 300bhp 4WD FT86......i'd love to see GT-Four on the back of a new Toyota again :) |

Don't expect this car, and now with the new information since last saying this, the Subbie variant to be AWD. Instead, you could expect the R&D behind this chassis and car to spawn a new wave of Toyota sports car's, one of which, especially when their collaboration with Subaru, could easily be the revival of Celica and the GT-4 (All-trac here in the U.S.) trim. I mean, its completely plausible, especially considering Mr. Toyoda said this was "just the beginning". |
