Yes, Because I was on the fence on whether or not I want to hire a pro to set up the 220v, Where certain shelves and benches are going to sit etc. I wanted to get the drywall up and be certain on what sides of the garage I want tools, storage, and paint prep area. Since I did not include pictures (garage is a mess) it would be hard for anyone to see exactly how the garage is now and how I would like to see it setup. Plus if I use conduit and external to the wall boxes I can place the power where I need it, and if I decide to change the bench size etc it can always be undone and changed to suit my needs.
TLDR; Id rather do external electrical boxes than have to place my things where the socket is. In Soviet Russia electrical socket comes to you. |
Pictures of my garage, hopefully this kind of conveys what I'm working with. The black curtain is a non opening window that I didn't want to reinstall blinds on since the opening goes below my workbenche. Still very much a DIY work in progress. And yes that one drywall panel is messed up on the top I know...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d0b9f213c9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2b1505847d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...27eed926c2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e59b18e617.jpg

Just ah messen wich ya about the electrical pre wiring - ;) My theory is, screw the conduit, just go with romex. Double tap into the electrical panel for light circuits - add a breaker for heavy circuits. - I know - :eyebulge: Short story. Yes, @T-coat , I've told it before. Back in California, I did a lot of my own wiring (without permits). I had an inground swimming pool installed in the back yard (yes, it was permitted). When I let the gas inspector into the back yard, I let him in through the garage. He looked around at my wiring in the garage and said "if I were you I wouldn't let the electrical inspector in through your garage, when he comes to inspect the electrical for the pool".- :confused0068: So, you're not going to sheet rock the ceiling?? (just ah messen wich ya again - :D). humfrz |
Since there is random stuff like unused closet doors and such on the ceiling I was going to select certain areas to put that reflective foil foam insulation up there to help reflect light waves from the shop lights back down. And I figured you were messing with me about the electric lol.

Haha It's hard to see but there is "SOME" organization going on. Enough to give me some space to work on stuff and sit haha.
