Cusco engine mounts

Ever since I installed the Jackson C30 kit I noticed the motor would torque itself in the engine bay much more when giving it gas. It felt as if the engine was loosely installed on the oem mounts. That wouldnt do. I originally wanted the STI mounts but parts from Japan take forever to arrive and FT86speedfactory had the Cusco mounts in stock. I took a shot and installed them pretty easily. Sooo what everyone says is true. THEY ARE FIRM. The car is a vibrator under 2k rpm period. The great thing is any throttle is transferred to the transmission and not wasted movement. The car feels much more responsive and immediate. They are borderline line for me but I'll keep them as I can deal with the low end vibes. Just a heads up folks.

So firmer engine mounts have potential making twins more popular among women, just like with chopper bikes :). Toyobaru marketing dept missed this feat :D

if you ever get tired of them, don't get the perrins.

i remember some people had them melt and were suggested to get the full metal (cusco) or STI ones

Edit - also might want to consider Fluidamper? Might help with the NVH

Just an update. They did not pass the GF test so I'll switch to the STIs. If someone tracks the car alot I could see staying with them. I only track my car maybe 4 times a year so it still needs to be comfortable for the woman. I'll post the in the for sale section after they're uninstalled. Shame, cause the car responses much better. :(

I don't think you will be disappointed with the STI engine and transmission mount combo. The driveline slop is significantly reduced with minimal (if any) NVH increase.

Yeah, I have the STI trans mount and it was a good improvement with no down side. If the engine mounts are 25% less vibey than the Cusco mounts they'll be a permanent feature.

Aw man, I have the Cusco mounts and they are phenomenal.

I agree. Its just the initial vibes from off idle to 2k rpm. If it wasnt for that, they'd stay. Cars gotta be dual use.

I got the sti mounts from ft86speedfactory arrived in under a week from purchase.
Didn’t notice any extra NVH at all. Seems like the best DD option to me.
