NW 86Cup Interest

So it has come up a couple times on the 86cup FB page that there is no NW. Is there any interest in this?

I'm thinking 4 round mini series at the ridge. No penalty for using timing apps, using NorCal 86 challenge rules and class calculator. It would need to be cleared with Turn 2 but I have no issues with talking to Tom about it.

Thoughts?

Have a serious distrust of FB, so never will have any visibility there.
Just sayin'.

I'd be interested but like bcj, I don't have/use FB so if that's required then I'm out.

I'm building my FRS for SCCA T4 (road racing) this off season so it would be nice to participate to help dial in the new car.

A T4 car is essentially a 86Cup Street class if non-sticky tires are used or Modified Class with the R-Comps. (Springs/non-adj Shocks/exhaust/tune are all that's allowed in T4).

Could be fun. I think a well driven and prepped T4 car at The Ridge should do 1:55's or maybe even a 1:54.

Facebook would not be required.

I am just really gauging interest at this point.

Next step would be finding a track day organization that would allow it to be run during their events, I think Turn 2 would be fine. They just need to be approached properly about it.

How many run sessions does 86 cup do per day? I’ve never been to an event and don’t know the program.

It is basically run in conjunction with another track day event. Norcal uses SpeedSF for most of theirs.

I ask because I’m a Hooked on Driving instructor. We typically run three 20 minute run groups per hour. But we have run four run groups as long as there are five 20 minute sessions per run group per day.

Can someone send me a pm with a typical track day schedule that includes club 86.

White car with RR front BBK? Think I have rode with you before.

It would be the same schedule. 3 20min broke by class with usual lunch break in the middle. Usually 5 sessions in a day.

Any further interest or questions on this? It is basically a free event tied to a regular track day. If there is not at least 8-10 people interested I am not going to bother. Not looking for any commitments, just looking into if there is enough people who track their car that would be interested in showing up. I would still need to clear things up with 86cup and a track day organizer, so the window for this happening next year is closing.

I'm interested insofar as it's another excuse to track. I haven't exactly built my car for a specific class, though, so I doubt I'd be competitive.

It'd be awesome to have a 4 event mini series!

Absolutely interested.
