-will get beat by turbo minivans
-Not enough space
-Too BMW, not enough Toyota, not a real supra
-People need to "get" this car.

you read those comments about most Lexus sports cars now. Everyone calls them underpowered, it is really absurd.

How do you know there will be no torque dip? We don't even know for sure what engine or transmission options there will be. All there is are a bunch of "insider" statements and assumptions based upon "interviews".

It's a BMW straight 6. They have always made oodles of torque in the low and mid range. Even the old NA motors.

The turbo chokes a lot after 5300 RPM on the base B58, but in the low-mid range it should be a beast.

Good Enough For Me

Never took my 86 on a track, it's been street driven since the day I brought it home.

With that being said, I did notice the torque dip on my daily commutes and it got annoying after awhile.

Just recently I flashed OFT stage 1 tune and I love it, the torque dip is less noticeable (it's not gone, just not as bad as it was stock) and the rev limiter has increased to 7600 IIRC. For those highway ramps, I can now hit 100 km/h in second gear due to increased red line :D

Best of all, I have launch control which I barely use, but it sounds super cool especially with my Remark muffler delete. I edited my OFT tune a little so that the exhaust pops on decel, sounds sweet. :burnrubber:

TLDR; I know this car isn't crazy fast. However, its fast enough for me and I like the small mods that I've added to it. At the end of every drive I leave the car with a grin on my face and a small surge of adrenaline. :)

The FRS really feels like an economy car!
Crappy head unit,
meh interior,
seats basically just slide forward and back (no tilt),
no steering wheel controls,
no helpful gauges

Yup, that's kind of the whole point.
If you need that other crap, this is not the car for you.
