MAF sensor substitute

I have replaced my MAF sensor with Denso 197-6160 which can be found for less than $100 instead of stock sensor (22680AA400). The substitute is working great, fits and looks exactly the same. If it works with my FI engine, it should work with any stock engine as well. Denso 197-6160 is more widely available since it is shared by many Toyota models including Corolla. I bought mine from Amazon for $80. FYI ...

Ooh, this is interesting.

I'll have to check it out.

Somehow, my car ended up with a 197-0613 from an Impreza/WRX/Crosstrek.

I'm sure the MAF Scaling is different with this sensor compared to the stock one. I wonder if the Corolla one would have a small adjustment in scaling too.

I just ordered the Toyota part from the dealership to hopefully fix some shizzle in my car, but now i'm curious about this part number.

Denso makes the stock sensors, so yeah, the Denso branded part will work the exact same as long as you get the exact one as OEM.

I run the Denso version on my 2004 WRX and it's been 100% fine. People on NASIOC confirmed it was the exact same part. I'm sure it's a similar thing for the BRZ/FRS.

I do wonder though. Between 613, 616 and the stock one, I can't tell if the car is working better or worse. I just installed the new OEM one that I got from the dealership. It definitely is dumping less fuel in. My FTLT is almost -20 now, and my FTST is like -5 and the car randomly stutters when holding closer to 3k. I'm probably going to get a revision of my tune because of this just to be safe.

I do wonder if CSG knows if theres any difference in reporting from these models they've seen.
