Upgraded Injectors worth it for NA?
If I want to run E85 with a 3" big MAF Perrin intake, full exhaust, and tune, would it be worth switching over to the 700cc injectors and DW300C pump I have laying around instead of the stock setup? Or is this flow only necessary with FI...

No need to change injectors or pump for NA even on E85
The perrin 3" maf intake will jusf cause you a bunch of headaches maf scaling wise its rearly meant for turbo to increase maf flow reading limit, not needed for NA Just cut off snorkel and put a performance drop in filter in it , |
I already have the Perrin intake hose and hiflow drop in panel filter. The 3" Perrin intake doesn't actually require a bigger MAF it's just a marketing term because you need a tune. But I need a tune anyways if I switch to FlexFuel.
I guess I'll save the pump and injectors for when I go FI. Thanks! |

The Perrin intake is a waste on na. Stock airbox is well desgined. You already have everything you need. Save the 250 to 300$ for something else useful for the car

I've heard this again and again but the dyno chart proof is there. With supporting air flow mods it definitely gains horsepower especially up top. I want to maximize the na potential of this car while I save up for FI lol. Is it a waste of $250? Eh I'll just resell it when I'm done haha

majixmatrix: problem with bolton mods is that gains don't stack. If intake is only mod and provides eg. +10hp, it won't provide as much when it's just one of several mods. IIRC for NA tuned twins w. just boltons & tune most cannot get past +40hp. So imho it makes more sense for more bang per buck to do it using least count of aftermarket parts that gain most. For example: catless header+aftermarket drop-in airfilter (if MY2017, i'd probably use stock)+E85 (and tune of course). Yes, decat frontpipe, some catbacks, some aftermarket complete intakes can add some gains, but if you add them in addition to combo above, those extra gains are meager at best, unlike if they had been first and only mods. Paying 1-2K+ for just extra +5hp when for same sum you already got +35hp? Makes sense only for real racing applications where every little bit counts and team budget from sponsors is high. For "normal owners" if one needs more then that main bolt-on mod combo provides, it makes sense to go forced induction, instead of trying to stick to NA no matter what. After all, supercharged engine is not that far from feel/control from NA.
