Looking for Toyota dealerships in GTA that have experienced mechanics.

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately I have been having some issues with the shifter and most likely transmission. Here is a link to the other thread I made in the Issue's forum: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129890

TLDR; suspected tranny issues has Toyota put me in an uncomfortable gamble-type situation with a significant amount of money. The car is a 2016 FRS with 95000 km on it, and some drivetrain warranty. I am looking to find another opinion on the matter and was wondering if anyone knew a Toyota dealership with the Service team familiar with the FRS, or perhaps just solid service in general.

Thanks,

I've been to Scarborough and Richmond Hill Toyota and mechanics at both dealers were pretty useless. I brought my car in to tighten the oil drain plug cause it was dripping and this guy wanted to book me in for an appointment cause a head gasket might be leaking. On a brand new car! Lol. Then at the other dealer the mechanic stalled the car. That threw up enough flags for me. What I would do is call my mechanic at Apex Automotive. Jason is very knowledgeable and has serviced tons of our cars. Anytime I ask him about anything, he's got an answer for me. Frank is also good. Call them 9055548720. Maybe they've seen this kind of situation before. If not, labour ought to be cheaper.

You can try Brimell Toyota and ask for Daniel/Dan. He's a mechanic that has extensive experience with the twins in our car group. Maybe he can help you out.

Any opinions/suggestions regarding Burlington Toyota or Dixie Toyota (a TRD dealer)?

Went to Dixie Toyota before for a tire/wheel issue. Basically I bought my car used and came with used winters, so it was first time I put them on. It made a resonating metal sound when the car was around 55 kph and fades away outside of this range.

They charged me for a diagnosis of "nothing wrong" :mad0260: but I could hear it right after driving away and I know it isn't normal winter tire noise. I can't speak for actual mechanic experience but this left me feeling pretty empty.

Their parts services are quite fast though, ordered a missing clip and it came the next day or two.

Brimell Toyota - ask for Ken. Solid mechanic and worked on my cars before I moved away from Toronto.
