My guess is not totaled.

Rear bumper is $300.
New tail light is $250

QP isn't horrible, people have fixed worse.
$1500?

Who knows, maybe the suspension is not that bad.
Control arms and tie rods are not costly.
$1000?

I wonder if maybe this could be a $4k repair?

Looking forward to hearing what the shop's estimate is.
Make sure you get 2-3 estimates

In the US that would be about 7k I think. Definitely not totaled. In CA, I guess that's like 9k CAD if the labor/parts are equivalent cost? But if they have to ship something in that's at least a million.

That will be an easy $10k repair in his area. If it was a13 it may even have been close to write off.
If he keeps going as he has the whole body of the car will be new in about another year.

Well this time it wasn't my fault at least.... :(

Well after this it'll have had the fenders, hood and front bumper replaced, as well as the rear bumper, rear quarter panel, right rear suspension components, headlights, right rear tail light, (maybe trunk), and 1 wheel.

smh I need to sell this car asap

No way that repair is under 5000.

You've got to get new rear control arms, axle shafts and new shock mount most likely at the minimum. That's $1500-$2000 with labor

The 2017 rear taillight is around $457-$460 ( SU00306986 ) from the factory for one side

The body repair needs a new rear bumper cover, new rear quarter and fender and fuel door plus paint labor is definitely going to be $3500-$4000 at it's cheapest, assuming no structure or crash bar damage and if anything related to that is damage consider it increased by $800-$2000

OP I would definitely get a diminished value claim done, because with all the previous accidents it doesn't bode well for the cars value at all. Maybe even pay it off if your financing it and sell it ASAP as well

No chance it's that cheap. A front fender replacement is $1600.

If that comes out under $10k I'd be pretty shocked.

A front fender shipped is $450 CAD plus paint and labour, it shouldn't be close to $1600

This made me curious. Since Georgia is a TLF calculation state it is almost guaranteed a $10K repair bill would total loss my car (125K miles, Very Good condition) based on KBB. Even using the more generous Private Party Value, it would be bye-bye car.

Fender is $300 from the dealer.
Labor is 1 hour to remove and install.
Painting it should not be over $300

Maybe $700 for a repainted replacement fender ?
Not even close to $1600, that's for sure.

GrantedTaken 09-01-2018 10:16 PM

I guess it depends on the body shop. Rates can vary.
I'm pretty sure I could get this done for under $5k.
Assuming it's just some basic suspension stuff, and nothing catastrophic.

His is a 16 so higher value to start with. We are also talking Canadian prices. His car is worth around $22k here and the repair costs appear inflated to US cost since everything seems to cost more here. Things don't since the income levels are also higher and it balances out but seen from a US perspective it looks that way. Our right off are anything where repairs exceed 75% of the cars value so in this case not even close.
