Has anyone tried E15 or E30?
 

I know the fuel trims will be off, but has anyone tried 15% or 30% on the default tune or an off-the-shelf gas tune from OFT etc?

I'm just curious how the car would handle higher ethanol content, there's a station near me that has E15 and E30

if you don’t have access to get 91 oct premium fuel, E15 or E30 would be perfect options, with proper tunes of course. it seems like you’re from states, you probably can find 91oct easily, so e15 or e30 seems unnecessary for you.

if i could find e15 or e30 from pump, i would never miss this.

Generally i add 5 liters of ethanol (not e85, 96% purity ethanol) to the best fuel i can find in my country. Making my own blend. With this formula, it becomes almost ron98, but still much worse than U.S. 91oct.

I can find 93 locally, and it's all E10 here. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried the E30

wait wait wait...i can add some liters of pure ethanol directly in my tank with normal gas and make my own ethanol blend safely?

thats what we do for years :) ethanol is mixing with gas easily.
it seems like you are from italy. i don't think you can find e85 in italy easily, I never seen while my touristic trips. if you can find pure ethanol, you can run even e85 with this method :)

according to my bulgaria and romania experience, even RON98 gas in europe is worse than US 91oct. So cars in europe, with RON95 or RON98 gas never achive the same power/torque numbers like the ones in US. In US, E85 gas (with tune) gives 10 whp to top of 91oct/93oct gas. But in europe, since we don't have that good fuel, we don't have that much power. So the power difference between RON95/RON98 with E85 is much more than 10 whp. :)

yep no e85 in italy, and sometimes the 98ron or 100ron are dirty and knock easily
i think some e85 could be find in the nord near France or Slovenia but no chance for me in nord-center italy
How do i find pure ethanol for cheap, amazon? :P

You can find "medical ethanol" easily but it will be expensive.

I am taking from a guy who has a business with glucose (sugar) factory :) ethanol is produced by glucose. put 37-38 liters of ethanol, top up with gas. mm smells nice :)

no idea about amazon. better check customs regulations about chemicals. :)

I tried doing the same here in Belgium.
You can find it for cheap in Germany, but they do not send it to Belgium (at least the ones I found), so I suspect Italy will be the same.
Amazon sells it also, but doesn't ship to Belgium also.
They sell it also in the Netherlands for double of the price.

To get emission tested I had to disable my flex fuel sensor and go to a 93 tune. I still had E15(93 and E85 mix) in the tank and it ran fine.

SO you could mix in a gallon or 2 of E85 should be ok. But some fuels may have lower octane like E15 is only 89 so I would not run those fuels....
