Rear wheel liner issue

So I noticed my passenger side rear wheel liner ripped at the bottom where it attaches with a pop clip. It seems like this would be a common issue, any one have a better replacement or fix for this?

It's not a common issue. Replace with OEM.

Really? I already found multiple threads about it coming loose, ripping, or dragging against the wheel.

Just seeing if there was a better fix than replacing it with something that will fail again.

I have this too, I just sewed it together and put the pop clip back in.

Generally it happens when you hit something and get extreme compression, with wheels that are too low in offset.

Stock suspension and wheels with 32k on the car. Cant recall hitting anything, but Its possible obviously.

You don't have to hit anything big. Think of all those small pebbles/rocks on the road. Now think how many of those are picked up by the tire and thrown into the fender liner. Now think how many times your wheel goes round, now multiply it by how fast you travel.
There's your answer. simple huh?

Yeah.... never said it wasn't. Just looking to see if there was a better solution than a stock replacement. :slap:

Or an eloquent repair for the stock part when it rips or sags. Maybe sandwiching it between metal and using the push pin? Idk...

You can try adding a metal washer to see if that helps pressing it down since the attachment hole is torn.

The rear wheel deflectors are like $20 from the dealership.

You need 2 backing washers, but it is impossible to put them on the inside of the frame so they need to sit on the push clip before you push it in.

I have Verus suspension covers, so it’s important the rear wheel deflectors stay still in order to stay in front of the wheel deflector built into the suspension cover for mAx AeRo.

You have pictures of your covers by any chance? I have thought about doing their rear diffuser and the cover combo.

Unfortunately I lost all my pics of them last month...but I’ll post some soon as there’s hardly any pictures of the combo on the internet.

And it is a great combo, it is actually very difficult to scrape as well being installed at the max height.

So here’s a couple (bad) pics of my solution.

Used 2 washers (clear damage on wheel deflector but w/e.

And here is a pic of the OEM and Verus wheel deflectors meeting. I wish there was a way to connect the two, as going high speeds pushes the oem deflector behind the Verus wheel deflector. I believe the shown gap is for rear brake cooling.

I’ll get a better pic when I rotate my tires this weekend.

The two washer thing worked for the bottom. I occasionally have to push one side in after higher speeds as well. Not sure how to fix that. I'm actually surprised verus hasnt done anything like the front deflectors back there to match the under panels they already have.

I know it's a cheap part and all....
