HAHA your right .. hm.. I have a idea! how about on the left side of the radio trim. right behind the wiper stock. its a very common plastic trim plastic. If people mess it up, it would not be too complicated to replace that trim plastic.

pic?

So finally installed everything. I discovered a extra ground pin on the connector that not populated on the pre 17 cars. So, adding the ground cable will be easier then what i was originally thinking. So its just a matter of adding three pins to the back of the Cluster connector.

Woh! it does make it feel a tad Better.

OH! random! Apparently the cluster stores not only if its KPM vs MPH, Ambient in C or F.... but the Automatic AC temp.. When i corrected the odometer Mileage on the eeprom for my car... i flipped a bit down bellow those setting. On the bench i did not see anything but as soon as i plugged it into the car the car... the AC switched to C lol...

@geraldjust... Do you know if the cluster is specific to a manual or auto vehicle?. Or the same one works on both?

Same on both. I got my cluster from a A/T. I did not notice anything crazy, even the Gear Selector Indicator works just fine on a Manual.

Pro tip! make sure you dont unplug the cluster when the car is on. if not some ECUs will keep a error code. lol.

THNX!!.. also, which part number you have? I asked because I found primarily two: SU003-07448 and SU003-07449. Not sure what is the difference.

@geraldjust could you share how did you dump the cluster? I got 86, BRZ, GR86 and STI version on hand, see if we could compare the binary.

Are you talking about the eeprom or the flash chip?

for the flash chip is one of these:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Flashca...68Zg:rk:1:pf:0

You have to desolder it from the board. (hot air station make is suuper easy)
Mines flash reader is coming in the mail any day now. But you do have t be proficient with doing board level repairs.

Don't think I got the enough skill and don't want to ruin the dash:bonk: See if it is possible to read by soldering a few legs to the chip. Will keep you posted.

It would be much easier to hot air then anything. I feel like lifting a leg i could lift a trace. Ive done so much hot air so many times is second nature for me LOL. But if i find another way il let you know. Do the Cluster you have are virgin? like no car has been programed to it? I would like to compare a used cluster EEPROM to a new one actually. The eeprom is actually a different chip. The 8 leged 93c one from what i can remember. If you could read that it would be awesome too!

Well I bought my second BRZ Digital Cluster -_- Plan to actually install this one haha.

I was interested in the fact that oil temperature is included in the dash now. Which means I need to add those wires to my harness. LS Swapped and removed the factory oil temp.
