Road trippin' to Toronto this weekend

I'll be using the Niagara crossing and heading into downtown for business meetings on Monday and Tuesday. Are any of the members here in that area that I'll be cruising through? I wouldn't mind meeting for a few minutes and having a cup of coffee or a beer. I was going to fly but after realizing that it's only an hour or so longer to drive I figured why not just drive. I hate dealing with airports and all the security hooey anyway.

Too bad I don't live there anymore. I'd be right on the way in Hartland.

So that was a fun solo road trip, about 1100 miles round trip, out on Sunday and back on Tuesday night. I got the best mpg's the car has ever gotten and averaged 34.5 for the trip. Good tunes, windows open almost the whole way, a quick stop at Niagara Falls because there's no good place to stop and get out of the car without paying exorbitant rates for parking, some more good tunes and a bunch of roads through places I've never been to before made for a great trip.

FWIW that part of Canada looks as much like the California, Las Vegas or NJ 'burbs as anywhere I've been. I was kind of surprised but I really had no expectations so didn't know what it was going to be like. Traffic up there sucked, the first 70 miles out of Toronto heading towards the border took about 3 hours :(

Traffic everywhere is shit. I've been stuck in stand still bumper to bumper crap for 30 minutes at MIDNIGHT! It's always either construction or an accident reducing a 4 lane highway to a single lane, virtually at any time of day. I've made a habit of checking my route on Google Maps before I go anywhere.

Hmmmm either DVP starting to become 404, or 401 Eastbound.

Should have PMed. I could have made it happen. Believe it or not I do miss posts and even full threads sometimes. The duty operator for that day has been fired.

Hahaha. I'll be up there again in the spring so will be sure to let you know ahead of time.
