A +42 offset wheel and a 20mm spacer...
 

Hi! I'm thinking of replacing my stock 16' wheels for nicer 17' ones that resemble Enkei's Raijin model, however they don't come in 5x100. It's not easy nor cheap to get decent wheels for the 86 in Argentina, and I really like these.

So, thing is I need to get 20mm steel spacers to adapt the 5x112 to 5x100, leaving with a +22 final offset.

Would this be reliable for everyday driving plus a (very) ocasional trackday, given the spacers are properly torqued and mantained? Will it be a disaster? Will the wheel break out and hit some guy?

Btw the ride height will remain stock.

A 17x7.5 +42 with a 20mm spacer will essentially be a 17x7.5 +22 wheel. This will fit nicely without rubbing. I would purchase and install a set of camber bolts in the front. They are very inexpensive and easy to install.

So I'm good with the spacers then, it should look awesome.
And about the camber bolts in the front, would those be to prevent tire rubbing? I'll look into that (I'm pretty new to pretty much everything).

Spacers should work no problem. Just make sure they are torqued properly. And It is a good idea to re-check them while inspecting the rest of your car. I would suggest hubcentric spacers. The stock bore is 56.1mm


I have been using ichiba hubcentric spacers for a few thousand miles with zero issues.


Camber bolts will add up to -1.5 camber in the front. This will tuck the top of the tire under the fender if they poke at all. And will give you a little bit more aggressive stance without causing any uneven tire wear. I paid $20 for SPC EzCam bolts off of ebay. Installed them in about 15 minutes.

+22 offset is going to be quite a bit of poke if the wheel fitment directory is to be believed...

He is asking about a 7.5" wide +22 wheel. It will poke 6mm less than a 9" +35 wheel, which is a very common size. And only 6mm more than a 8" +35. It Really will look nice and flush.


Will have the same exact poke on stock suspension as post # 38 that shows the new 18x8.5 +35.

Essentially you would be like running an OEM wheel with a 30mm spacer, this would look pretty good. There is a good OEM wheel with spacers thread on here to give you an idea of how the wheel will sit.

I have 25mm spacers on the OEM wheels, the front sits good but I kinda wish the back had just a tiny bit more poke. Overall though I like it. So with that setup you are looking at it should sit nice. As suggested put some camber bolts on the front to engage the fender a but more and to give a bit more of an aggressive look.

Are you dropping the car any, coilovers or drop springs? A drop will add a bit of natural camber so keep that in mind.
