MPG: FR-S/BRZ clutch development.

Here at Monster Clutches, we are always working on a new product to bring out, and have finally had the time to start on some R & D for the FR-S/BRZ. While this is just the cover, we have some great plans for the community. We will be testing our clutch against some very well known clutches on the market. If you own or have owned a LS motor, chances are you know who we are.

We will be coming out with a few variations of the clutch. Depending on what the end user needs, we will make sure that clutch you buy will be a perfect fit for your N/A or FI FR-S/BRZ.

Here is a quick photo of the cover.

Feel free to post questions and concerns, or just to discuss.

Regards,
Jeremiah

Any chance of putting out a light weight fly wheel? I think a bunch of people around here would like to upgrade their flywheel without upgrading the stock clutch if possible...

Jeremiah@MPG 07-27-2012 07:17 PM

A majority of our clutches come with the flywheel. On our other applications, we offer both billet and lightweight flywheels.

So, I do not know if there is an immediate plan to just offer the flywheel. I will bring it up in our next meeting and get back to the community.

Regards,
Jeremiah

Just talked to the owner. We can do a lightweight flywheel. Anyone have a stock one we can use?

Sweet! I think people would be in to that. Keep asking around and I am sure you can find a sock one. Maybe the guys at vivid racing would be kind enough to help you out. I think they have one.

Also talk to lonewolf and get into the R&D thread. Someone might give their car for your testing for a little return consideration.

seeing that you guys are in fort worth, maybe trying the regional forums would help get a car for R&D?

I think so as well. A member PM'd me yesterday, offering his full clutch setup. So, we are headed in the right direction.

Well right now, we are concentrating on just the clutch and flywheel. We have a few friends that are either turbo already or in the process with their kit. So, they need their clutches haha.

 Thanks for the support!! I am glad the clutch has been great for you. Always nice to see our clutches being abused and still holding strong. Hahaha I hear you sir. If it's not one thing it's another.

Also guys, our clutches have 12 month warranty.:eyebulge:

Thanks to Wu_dot_com, we have a full clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate coming in. After my meeting with the owners, the first line of business will be the lightweight flywheel. Will will offer both standard weight and lightweight flywheels.

As far as the clutches, we will be coming out with two, for now. One made with kevlar and will be rated at ~300rwtq for NA cars. It will have the same life as the stock clutch and have 10% more pedal pressure over stock. The other will be 6-puck ceramic sprung hub and rated at ~475rwtq for the the FI cars. Life expectancy is 60-70k miles and a gain 10% more pedal pressure over stock.

Here is the cover above back from engraving.

What was the weight on the factory setup?

Bonburner 08-01-2012 02:52 PM

Even if I went FI I think the 300 rwtq would be plenty ~ haha

Don, as Bryan stated, when he weighed everything for us it came in around 37lbs. I'll have individual weights when I get everything in. Which do you think will work better for you? Kevlar or 6-Puck?
