Suggestions on suspension upgrade over BC
 
What are some of you guys running around $2000 for suspension setup and are happy with? Looking for something that offers better driving comfort while letting me maintain the favorable 1" gap between fender and tire. Something that's not extremely bouncy. I went super cheap and got BC Racing under $1000. I thought I could pull it off! And now my car is like a fucking boat on water. The headlights rise and dip at night like an oldschool lowrider on hydraulics. Pretty sure people think I am flashing them.

Just for the looks of being lowered, I'd say it's deeefinitely not worth sacrificing driving comfort. Feels like my brain bobbles and levitates which is nauseating, body gets thrown all over the place on the slightest dips in the road, and its even worse with another person in the car. Even a little dangerous to drive because the car makes unpredictable responses in steering when it rolls over something maybe 4" steep. Needless the say, the car is less fun to drive in its current state because of just this 1 issue. I'll never again underestimate the importance of proper suspension setup. I'm actually contemplating going back to the stock struts at this point. This was a mistake and I need to up my suspension game.

CSG's Tein Flex A are a popular new option.

We (RCE) are coming out with our new RCE SS1 coilovers (made by KW) in less than a month.

Both would fit your budget/needs and be plenty of fun.

Stock shocks with a spring that lowers about 1 inch would ride better than what you have now and are IMO a better option for a daily driver than a sub $1k coilover. The 2 coilovers I mentioned would be a step above that in performance.

Thanks, RCE! I'll look into those options. At this point, I'm pretty desperate to get my ride quality back in check lol.

Like Andrew said lowering spring are a better choice unless you need adjustability for street and track. If you still have the stock parts just grab some lowering springs (I have the RSRs which I am very happy with) and call it a day.
I think some people forget that the stock set up is already coil over and is pretty well done. Not like you are taking a Honda sedan and trying to just throw springs on it.

Yeah, and I do not miss having to painstakingly adjust the damn collars on the coils either.That was a nightmare in itself. Lowering springs are really appealing right now. Wish I had done this from the start, but some car friends persuaded me against lowering springs. Something about it killing the shocks prematurely or something.

If you're only using your car as a street car lowering springs would be a good option. As long as you lower it within 1inch you should not have issues with your shocks/struts. RCE Yellows, TRD Springs, and Eibach Pro-Kit seem to be the most popular springs for this platform im sure they'll pair well with your stock 2017 dampers.

i think it is something with how your car is setup rather than the coilovers, i have had BC's on my car for 30k miles and it isn't bouncy or floaty at all.

edit: also l;ooked through your build thread has your car even been aligned yet? if it has not been set up properly and aligned changing the coilovers is not going to do a thing.

It hasn't been aligned yet. Is that the problem? Are you also lowered to about 1" wheel gap?

it not being aligned and set up is completely the problem, my car is probably way lower than yours and i have no issues. go to a good alignment shop and have this thing set up.

Anything from the next barrel. Nothing from the same barrel.
Even the stock dampers are better than BCs.

An alignment isn't going to fix a stiff or bouncy ride. But yes they should be aligned.

BC's are terrible. Common knowledge. The factory dampers and better yet the factory Sachs are actually pretty alright.
