Fix it ticket in OC

Just got stopped and officer was nice and let me off with a fix it ticket for no front plate. Now if I go in with my car how it is, lowered, exhaust, window tint and other mods, can they give me more fix it tickets after signing off my front plate one?

Thaeyo 08-17-2018 08:44 PM

They shouldn't, but they may not sign off regardless of what it says on the ticket (****s, I know). If you go to Irvine PD HQ, the lady there barely even glances at the car and signs off your fixit. I went in the evening

Perfect cause it will be Irvine PD, and last thing I need another tickets for tint, exhaust, and lowered car.

Is this local police or CHP? I had the same thing this week and had similar concerns.

Was a local PD, the officer was a former racer and tuner so he understood and gave me the least expensive ticket. He knew the distinct subie rumble and asked what kind of headers I was running :D

Just depends on who pulls you over, cops on bikes are the worst. They're already grumpy cooking in the sun for hours too

This is really the absolute truth. I haven't been pulled over since 2015 in my Subaru Legacy in Missouri moving here and I was literally pulled over for something really ridiculous that I looked back and found out wasn't a law. I think it was having a license plate frame. The guy who pulled me over the other day dangerously crossed like 3 or 4 lanes of traffic to ticket me about my smoked Valenti's and his partner was laughing the whole time. They were totally unprofessional and stupid. Then at the end he was like I think your windows are too tinted. The ticket is a fix for the window and a verbal warning for the tails. I'm not even sure how they were thinking or what they want me to do.

They let you off easy, it could've been way worse if you have any modded engine components without CARB sticker. Just take it for what it is. Invest in a dash cam too, it's a life saver

why? 08-18-2018 04:23 AM

Just get out of california, it is only going to get worse.

I got a fix it ticket for, get this, vehicle registration from a CHP! The nerve. Never had that happen up north. I had to dig through the glovebox to find it. Couldn't find it before he had that ticket filled out and started handing it to me. I showed my registration to him after that too and he told me not to. Weird. Then he pulls over the next car that tried to pass him nearly causing a wreck on the interstate. Insane.

Oh and flow of traffic was definitely going over 90 because I wasn't keeping up. :D Socal is a silly place, never go there. :bellyroll:

Just got a fix it front plate and 35%tint ticket. I changed lanes in front of the CHP SUV and he immediately flashed his lights. The whole time he's like "i'm letting you off easy with just a fix it, I could easily ticket you for your modified exahust (perrin 2.5" resonated) too." Not a real big fan of how he's telling me he's being lenient on me after giving me a ticket, but from what I read it could've been worse.

Happened in Irvine too.

Since when are modified exhausts illegal? Anything past the catalytic converter is fair game as long as it isn't especially loud. :mad0260:

Yup, I told him it's a catback and shouldn't be an issue and he just said anything modified is illegal. I didn't want to argue with him and get a ref ticket appt lol. I mean it is louder than stock but it's definitely not louder than other stock exhausts say from more expensive stock sports cars.

The worse part was that this was on city streets right as j was turning into the restaurant we we're heading to.

At this point I have until February to fix it. I surely can't get ticketed again for tint and front plate right?
