Texas - Pulsing/Blinking 4th Brake Lights
I'm installing a 4th brake light and I'm planning on adding a module where it blinks 3 times and then solid when the brake is pressed. Do ya'll know if that's illegal or legal in Texas? I've seen it in cars but I'd rather have documentation in case I get pulled over. It's a safety issue, I've been rear ended twice :mad0259:

Usually illegal but cops like brake flashers, legal up here for motorcycles but illegal for cars- "the law is an ass":bonk: |
Mine blinks five times... had it installed for months, no issues with police

Have been using this product: http://www.kahtec.com/smart_stop.htm for over 6 years now on all my vehicles with no issues. It is an Austin, TX based company. Flashing occurs for approx. 2.6 seconds and then stays on constant. If you have a flasher unit that flashes constantly it could be confused with an emergency vehicle and that would be considered illegal. |
