With the weather finally looking better I'm looking to get the car out of storage. Has anyone know of or done any SCCA events around Cleveland?

NEO SCCA is suppose to have events near the Captains stadium. I've never been there though cause it looks like a smaller lot.

NORA/ASCC has access to Dragway 42 and will be doing events there.

Next closest is Steel Cities in Wampum, PA...they have really good events and a good surface to autox on

A little outside of Cleveland, but I'll start doing events with the Akron Sports Car Club this year, with the first autocross on April 23rd.

Bumping an OLD THREAD to see if:

1. anyone is still around

2. Who has done the valve spring recall and if so where.

Drake_93 03-21-2019 01:00 PM

Necro AF, I'm in Kent.
13 10-series FR-S, original engine doesn't need the valve recall... but looks like previous owner swapped in a new one, and I can't find a vin code for this block.

I'll add, I'm boosted on 7.5psi right now and will push more once we inspect the internals.

Would like to bump this thread. I'll begin reading through it from the beginning. Looking to do some modifications. Looking for advice.

Welcome. I just realized A few minutes ago I bought my frs 7 years ago today. Still one of the most fun and enjoyable to drive cars I have owned.

Congratulations! :)
I bought a Scion tC six years ago as a go-to-work car. Really an excellent car! Always had my eye on the FR-S but it wasn't practical for my use. To make the story shorter; I retired a while back and started looking for another 2 seater; I own a vintage Crossfire. Tested the Nissan 370Z and liked it really well but the reviews pointed toward these 86s as an alternative. I tested the FR-S.. Really liked it and the dealership was wanting an end of the year sale. I'm glad I made the decision to buy. The 370Z was more powerful but way more expensive and no more fun to drive. I bought a cat-back exhaust, added a console arm rest for great prices. Working on installing a back-up camera. I'm looking for more modifications. Really liking everything about this sweet ride..

It’s a great platform, can be a real drivers car. I kept mine pretty simple with wheels, springs, header back exhaust, fidanza flywheel, light crank pulley, openflash tablet and some redline leather interior upgrades. It’s such a well designed car I do t fee it needs much.
