I was the guy in the blue shirt and had the GT3 in the group of Ferraris.

Just picked up a FR-S as a daily grinder. I am one of the guys that organizes the C&C event. Introduce yourself next year if you recognize me.

@Jon(Bullitt44)

We met briefly. I was driving the white MR-S and a group of us were meeting at the Starbucks the Sunday of the Ferrari meet before a cruise up to Chagrin River Road and Chagrin Falls. I think many a Saturday, you and I were the first ones to arrive at the C&C but I did not realize you were the organizer until you came up to us that Sunday. You run a nice little meet there and I have enjoyed meeting all the enthusiast who attend. I look forward to saying "Hello" when they start back up in the spring. Congratulation on the new FR-S.

As a matter of fact, I did try and take her out for a spin just to see how truly terrible the stock tires would be in snow, and I can confirm they're terrible. Even the slightest bit of snow on the road and you're done. I ended up having to pull her back onto the driveway with the wife's Forester.

Wow... I'm glad you made it back safely. It would have been a nightmare if you damaged it.Did you use the tow hook?

Jon, Are you driving your FR-S in the snow?

Yep, just couldn't get enough traction to climb over our curb from the street to our drive. Was never in any danger of damage, just pulled her out to see how easily she'd get stuck. Neighbors got a good laugh.

That is the plan :thumbsup:

Should be a bunch of fun, with snow tires of course!

pete39sp 01-23-2013 08:49 AM

So now that we are in the midst of winter how are you guys that are driving your FR-S/BRZ's making out? What kind of tires are you using? How is the traction? Do you get stuck a lot? Just think in 3 months this will be all over...... so they say.

It will be warm in March. Just another 6 weeks to go. The wife and I are considering a move to Jacksonville FL. We just sold our house and our search for a local rental has not proven fruitful. If we relocate then I will only make a couple C&C this year. I know I will be here in June for Mid-Ohio. I also may leave the Spyder here and come back for it in March. If I do that then I will stop at the Dragon on the way back down to FL.

I hope everyone is staying warm. I had the Spyder out last week for a nice drive after installing my new high flow cat and mid-pipe, changing the plugs, installing a new coil on cylinder #1 and rotating the tires. The pipe made yet again another change to the exhaust note and added some more punch. Dynos on other cars have shown an 8 HP gain. It seems to rev faster and pull harder on the top end. The other change solved a hesitation problem I was experiencing. I now have instant throttle response.

Anyone doing any mods to their FR-S/BRZ during the snowy months?

Edit: Well after a whirlwind 3 days of checking out Jacksonville FL, we have decided to stay in Ohio for at least one more year. We are renting a place in the Canton area so I will still be popping in to some of the C&C events. I will also get to enjoy the Mid-Ohio races and southeasterhn Ohio roads for a while longer.
