Idling intake temp is 70C(160F)
 

It was (43C)110f degrees outside. I like to take lunch and relax in my car with the AC on. I turned on torque and saw the intake temp.

If the air intake is in front of the AC, and the electric radiator fan is sucking air from the front, why is intake air still at 70C while parked/idling? Heat soak of the oem throttle body/tubbing/airbox?

This sounds normal to me, 160F isn’t exceptionally hot, and since your sitting still the temp will be higher as the fan uses forced air so to speak when you are moving to cool the engine when the fan is running with the A/C on. The engine will always run slightly warmer with the A/C going. Nothing to be concerned about.

Well, @Brz_racer pretty well explained the situation.

However, I have a few questions/comments.

Why on earth did you go out to a hot car to have lunch in 110 degree weather?:confused0068:

Why are you eating in your car to start with? It ain't a lunch counter. :iono:

To start up a car, let it idle and sit still, with the A/C running, in hot weather is not doing your car any favors … this :slap: is from your car.

I once had a cobalt SS and had the radiator replaced. They forgot to connect the fans and I didn't notice anything was wrong until it was 96F outside and I had the AC going while sitting still. The Coolant temp on that car was normally 190 with AC on, it reached 240 before i hauled ass back on the highway and got it down to 210...

Because if I try to take lunch at my desk or a break room, they will actually come bug me during my lunch with work related stuff.

I don't eat lunch in my car. I just step outside, out of the sun, in my car, with the ac on to keep cool, my seat reclined, relaxing, make some phone calls, surf the web, etc. I don't let anyone eat or drink inside my car.

Well, OK.

Reminds me of not too far back in the day, when I was a real estate broker, in the afternoon, my partner would tell me I was getting grumpy, so she would make me go out in my car and take a nap, so she could get some of our work done.

Since I had had stroke a few months before while working there, I had to tape a sign on the windshield when I napped, which said, "I'M OK, I'M NOT HAVING ANOTHER STROKE - I'M JUST NAPPING - LET ME SLEEP"
