Question for owners - Boot release button

Owners,

Any of you guys have an inactive boot release button on the key fob (i.e. it does jack squat when you click on the button)?

Just wondering if its actually supposed to work lol before I rock up to my dealer and demand an explanation

Cheers

EDIT: Solved! Hold down the trunk release button for 2+ secs and watch it pop :D

Isn't there a switch in the boot that turns it on and off? Look at your manual. I think its so valet cannot get into boot.

Did you press and hold for 2+ seconds?

Both the in-car and remote button needs couple of seconds before the boot pops....

Thank god it takes 2seconds. I constantly pop the boot on My current car by accident when I start it. Drives me mad.

This took me an embarrassing amount of time to work out as well.

haha i had the same problem with my mkII when i first got it.

i pressed the button for the first time and nothing... i was perplexed so i pressed it again still nothing, scratched me hed, pressed it a few more times and nothing, i wasnt happy the button wasnt working so then i pressed the button and kept it down out of pure frustration trying to either get it to work of destroy the key...... boot pops, i was like ohhhhhhhhh, quick chech to see if anyone looking, no one was so walked away quite pleased with myself that i figured out how to open the boot.

oh then had to turn back to close the boot that was still popped slightly
