Need help, spun rod bearing, vvt parts missing

Hello guys,

Thanks for the interst.
A few month ago, I was gently driving when some super weird feeling and noise appear from the engine.
Didn’t took long to be pretty sur that a bearing was out.

I call Mt brother which is studying automotive ingeneering in Loughbrough uk and we began to open repair and order parts.
Diagnose was good, first rod bearing on left cylinder bank was out.

Till there no big issues, unfortunately we let some parts on workshop and didn’t tought how it could be so intersting for some friends to took some part in hand and look at them.
As you imagine which parts could be more intestine than a pretty nice inlet vvt gear.
A few weeks ago when the crankshaft the main and rod bearing arrived whe began to assembly the engine and realized that the spring and little plate from it where missing on the left vvt inlet. Not the best news I ever had.

So my little question, is that possible for somebody who already change upgrade replace or or or to sell me those little parts since I’m pretty blocked with this issue and totyota isn’t very concilient since they only want to sell me the complete gear which cost me near 450£.

Btw if somebody else also upgrade the oil pomp I could also be looking for some one.

Regards and don’t forget to have fun with those little pretty cool car !!!

Hello faninos and welcome to our forum …

It might be helpful if you could get a part(s) number for what you need or spot it in a diagram of that part of the engine.

Plan B would be to get the parts you need from a wrecking yard.

Good hunting.

Another member gave me his failed sprockets to study. I'm happy to help. Let's exchange info privately.

I just went through a rebuild and that damn door popped off mine and hit the floor. I could see how it would be easy to lose and you can't buy that part separate, you have to buy the whole gear.

Out of curiosity, which bearing went? You say 1st one on the left. Not sure exactly what orientation you are referring to.
