2014 Monogram FR-S BeSpoke head unit - Touch screen stopped working

The touch screen on my Pioneer head unit (the BeSpoke one that came with the Monograms) has stopped working. All of the physical buttons/knobs work fine, but just no touch.

Anyone with this head unit run into this before? I couldn't find any info regarding resetting the head unit so I tried just disconnecting the battery for a while, but still nothing.

I'm honestly not even sure when it actually stopped working as I rarely need to actually touch the screen. But of course, I reset my phone's network settings yesterday and now I can't re-pair my phone & head unit. Time to dust off the ol AUX cable.

Update: AUX cable didn't work because, of course, you need to tap the "AUX" button on the touch screen.

Anyway, I was driving home and was desperately trying to make something happen. So I tried connecting my phone (Android) via USB again with the hope that I could use the car's voice commands to play something. I'd say "Play (band)" and the car would say something along the lines of "Please wait, your phone is still syncing". I just so happen to try tapping one of the touch screen options and... it worked, along with the rest of the touch screen. So I'm thinking that something got messed up with the USB port, possibly from using it to charge stuff.

My guess is it's just coincidence that it started working when you plugged your phone. My guess is there is a ribbon cable somewhere that is coming loose or needs to be cleaned. Not to be a debbie downer but I suspect it will stop working again. But on a positive note it's probably an easy fix if it stops again. As long as you don't mind pulling it out and taking it apart until you find the ribbon cables from the screen.
