LED Front Signals with Resistor Flash Correctors

A lot of people have been asking me which LED lights I installed, and how I got my turn signals to flash at normal speed once I installed them. Well here are the eBay auctions where I purchased my stuff and it works great. (@digital_assassin bought my 2nd set, so he should be able to back me up)

That is a turn signal here, too... that was just the "dim" mode. It flashes brighter.

How does the turn signal work? Can you ummm... be more specific? You push up or down on the steering wheel stalk and the lights on the corresponding side of the car flash. :)

i dont see the turn signal flashing on the video. that was actually my question

or is it really not on the video?

DarrenDriven 07-27-2012 01:03 AM

It is not flashing in the video... just the parking lights lit up. The video was for warranty replacement of my HID kit... not really for the turn signals, but since people have been asking about them I decided to include the video.

could you make a turn signal flashing video? lol

Darren, have you looked to see if the flasher relay is a Toyota or Subaru part? When I put LEDs in the turn signals for my TC, I just replaced the thermal relay with an electronic one (which are readily available for most cars out there), and haven't had any problems since. Took 5 minutes to swap them out.

So I took some daytime video... and it really washes out the ability to differentiate between the brighter "flashing" LED state and the dimmer "parking" LED state. In real life you can tell a little better when the lights are flashing.

Also, my HIDs are 5000k and are white, but for some reason my iPhone makes them look greenish/bluish. Interesting.

That looks great Darren! I'd like to do that to my car, but i'm not that mechanically inclined

I'm not either, but it doesn't take much mechanical skill at all to do. My skills tap out at changing oil, replacing and bleeding the brakes, and on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty I'd say it's probably a 3.

Wait so your turn signals are white? Dude...

DarrenDriven 07-27-2012 10:06 PM

Yes, the law states that your front signals and marker lights may be either white or amber. In the 70s and 80s there were a number of cars that had white (clear) bulbs but I can't think of any recent examples. The law has not changed, though.
