nvm
Stupid question.

8k square is fine. 14k square is painful. I mean, you won't have as much bouncy because the springs won't move much at all. That's not really comfortable though.
It's the dampers sucking and/or how low you are. Also those swift springs seem to be coilover springs. |
If ride quality is important to you, as it is with me, have you thought about going back to stock or stock with TRE/STI springs if you want it lowered? You will not get better ride quality than stock dampers and springs. I know that is heresy here, but it is true.

Spring rates are spring rates. Brand of spring in this case has jack shit to do with ride quality. You wanna be low with a nice ride, there is only 1 option. AIR. And in layman's terms since you don't know what google is..... NO You cant put lowering springs on "coilovers". You can put stiffer/softer springs. You can put taller/shorter springs. You cant use OTS "lowering springs" that are designed for the stock struts/shocks. Also TY for this thread. You've made our lolwut post of the day on my discord. |
@Lakitu, don’t feel bad for asking for help. The bottom line is that it’s tough to have decent ride quality with a combination of low ride height, relatively stiff coils, and an entry-level coilover. Some suggestions that come to mind are to raise your ride height so that you max out at about a one inch drop to maximize available travel, which is particularly important on our cars because the rear is short on travel to begin with. Stiff springs can be made to ride acceptably, but generally not without a high-quality damper that has precise damping - and you’ll have to pay plenty for that. I have no experience with your BC Racing coilovers, but my guess is you’re oversprung and underdamped as is, and you’d be a lot happier with a 5 or 6K spring. A lot of people run BC Racing coilovers so there has to be a fair amount of information on the board and, contrary to what you saw in this thread, there are good people out there that are willing to help out.
