the Si is a huge letdown compared to the FA5 and FG2. i'd take one of the previous models way before i'd buy a 2012 Si.

VenomRush 05-16-2011 02:18 AM

Well, on paper it looks good

Dragonitti 05-16-2011 02:20 AM

I'm sorry, but a light that lights up when VTEC is engaged = EPIC FAIL. That just screams douche bag. On paper it doesn't sound like a Honda. Honda fans are hating that they have Torque now at the sacrifice of RPMS.

NESW20 05-16-2011 02:28 AM

yeah, that's why it's such a letdown. it gained 3hp and lost 1000rpms. it's exactly the same thing they did when they changed from the 99-00 Si to the 02-05 Si. increased displacement, same power, lower revs. took all the fun out of the car.

Damn, what happened to the Honda Civic.

I was never a civic fan, but this one is even more of a bust. The HF may not be a bad DD since it gets 41mpg, but that's the only improvement I see. How is this thing going to merge on to a highway?

Maybe competition with the Corolla for best sub-midsize. The Civic hasn't been "cool" since it was a 2000lb subcompact with a "big" 1.6L engine that revved to the moon. And then the most common thing to do was swap an even bigger Integra engine that revved even higher!

And this is why the Integra is still one of the most stolen vehicles around
