Cruise control and current gear suddenly not working, but suddenly worked again
 

Hi everyone. Got my used 2015 limited BRZ in May 2017.



I was driving earlier and my cruise control wasn't working and the current gear I'm on wasn't showing on my dashboard. The cruiser control indicator showed up when I pressed the button, but the "set" icon did not when pressing the handle down to set the cruise so I just ended up slowing down when letting go of the gas pedal. I tried about 3 times. After 5 minutes I was at a light and turned off my car and turned it back on. Cruise control and gear number still weren't working. But a minute later it suddenly worked. Anyone have any idea as to why or how? When driving to work this morning everything was fine.



I had a minor issue with my battery in which something wasn't connected correctly when I first got the car, so a few times I would have to wiggle the terminal a bit when my car wouldn't start and my radio would be the start up wizard (only happened about 5 times between May-February). Wasn't a big deal to me so I didn't get it fixed until February 2018 when I needed to go to the shop for other things. Dealership fixed it up and haven't any problems since then. Not even sure if my current situation is a battery issue.



Anyone ever have this occur or know what the possible issue and fix could be? This is the first time it's happened and I'm sure if it happens once it'll happen again until the issue is resolved. Thanks!

Sounds like a loose connection.

Bubba suggests to wiggle the fuse .. just in case.

Maybe the cruise control clutch pedal disable switch is bad or stuck? The gear indicator goes out when you depress the clutch which also disables the cruise control.
