Dealership sent me a check
 

Just got a check from the dealership I bought my BRZ from in the mail today for $9. What's that, some DMV fee they overcharged me for or something? No letter with it to explain.

I'm confused. Are you asking a question or looking for opinions on what to do?
Because if you're trying to find out why, best way is just ask dealership about it

Wouldn’t it be easier to just give them a call and ask instead of asking us to make guesses?

I got home from work after they closed for the day, and have another 12+ hour workday ahead of me tomorrow so I'll be at work the entire time they're open. I'll take guesses from strangers on the internet.

It's prepayment for the porno they want you to star in. They pay $4.50/inch.

It is in your contract fine print. You cash it you agree to forfeit your warranty.

it's repayment for the dealership installed swirls during delivery! infamous single bucket wash that is used to clean the wheels first, then the paint with a sponge.

Some dealers have an agency that registers the car and mails you plates or something to that effect. They "estimate" the cost and would mail a check if it was over.

Is the dealer handling your new plates?

Yeah, dealer handled the plates. Would it normally take a year to get the check though?
