Need to rent truck and trailer

I'm planning a track day at Laguna Seca which is an 8 hour drive and I don't want to drive the car. I have a truck but under powered for towing. Any ideas on who rents a truck and trailer package?

Well to get you started, a Uhaul truck/van and trailer would be roughly $75 a day plus $0.59 a mile.

There are like three other places too just use your google-fu to find them.
But I will say that uhaul are usually the cheapest and have Sunday drop offs/returns depends on location.

Really? Guess your right, took a lot of effort not to fall for that Pokémon troll trap Jordan what his face posted.

But then again silly questions get silly answers.

Yeah for sure. I think Enterprise doesn't charge mileage however I don't think they allow towing though. Gonna check Penske

Rural king and tractor supply rent trailers dirt cheap.

The last time I rented a Uhaul, their trucks still didn't have cruise control by corporate policy. Eight hours in a Uhaul with no cruise control and janky steering is unpleasant. I can say this from direct experience.

The last time I hauled a vehicle, I found a smaller truck rental place (Longhorn Rentals, a Texas franchise) and rented an F350 that was a lot more pleasant than a Uhaul for considerably less than a Uhaul would have been. I originally rented an auto transport from them as well, but the tongue lock failed and came off the truck a mile from their office, so I ended up using their truck to pull a Uhaul auto transport.

You might want to call around locally and see what truck fleet rental companies in your area do one-off rentals. You may get a better truck and a better deal.

Just curious, why don't you want to drive your car up there?

I might guess as to why as I have done the same exact thing before.
The reason: one might screw up and bust the car, either mechanical failure or you hit a wall. Or all that could happen on the way back home.

It's just an insurance you can bring your car back home with out paying insane amount of money from a tow company.

Pretty sure even AAA would have its limits towing 8 hours. Then again I don't know I'm just guessing, maybe they could?

But that's just my guess,

See the post below yours. Also I'm coming up from So Cal and the Highway 1 is blocked off due to landslides so it's freeway all the way now. The coast route is a drive that everyone should make someday, Big Sur etc. If that route was open I'd think about driving the FRS as I've done it many times in my 911 Turbo headed to Laguna Seca and it's just unbelieveable.
