VIS Racing Warning

Just a heads up for those considering any VIS Racing carbon fiber parts. I ordered an AMS style carbon fiber trunk and when it was delivered I was pretty disappointed with how it came.

As you can see, this is what arrived (brand new). I was told by the director of sales that he had never seen anything like it, and it should have never left like that but there was nothing he can do for me and essentially blamed me. Was pretty shocked how they handled it. Just be careful, I would have gotten better quality for cheaper if I had just ordered a china rep one.

sucks, but just get some light duty polish and the scratches will come out easy. probably 15 min of work. you should also ask if it came with a uv coating, otherwise you should get something that specifically protects carbon fiber from the sun

is the fitment good? who knows what the fitment would have been like from a rep

Scratches?

I think he is referring to the large discolored patches that look almost like delaminations or heat damage?

i'd be on the phone yelling at someone until they replaced it

Why the hell did you even put it on?

I would have snapped photos right after unpacking and told them to fix it.

I've been in contact with them for a week now trying to get them to do something about it. No luck.

And yeah for sure not scratches or sun damage (as its brand new) I think the carbon fiber just didn't stick to the coating properly.

Charge back your card, that's fucked

Unacceptable, never should have installed it like that.

You could put a giant wing over it to take attention off the cancer.

Did you contact them before or after putting it on your car?

Or get it paint matched. That's what I did with my spoiler when it arrived damaged and needed repair. See if they will go in on the cost as a compromise. It's better than paying shipping back and forth.

Get his comments in writing, and file a chargeback on your card. That's all there is to it.

jokes.

I don't think VIS or Seibon uv coat their products. You'll want to put your own protective layers on to keep the longevity.

I know personally that MarshPowerHouse clears and coats every hood he makes.

Have you tried washing it? I remember when I picked up a used one it had similar discoloration but after a wash it disappeared.
