I still have the original spark plugs much less fuel filter and I am at 120K miles. May never change it since I have not had a fuel filter plug up in over 40 years. Plastic tanks, quality fuels and being careful that no snakes crawl in the hole while filling it mean the filter should stay fine for several hundred thousand miles.

145k and counting without changing it. I might get to it if I decide to do the Verus fuel flap and have it all out anyway

That video makes it look like a child could do it as it's so simple. What does this cost?

I'm going to guess a fortune based on recent work I had done by a dealer.

Also shocking this guy is doing it on a full tank.

Could be a fancy Platinium one?

Interesting note on the spark plugs, out of curiosity have you pulled them out to see the condition they're in?

I skipped on the fuel filter but changed the plugs at around 60k miles... I'm at 94k but not planning on changing the plugs again at 120k...

If I am going to the trouble of pulling them they are going to get changed. I do not have data logging capabilities but all of the normal signs of plugs going bad are still fine. No change in mileage or performance or any other indicators present. When I do get them changed I will ask for the old ones and take some pictures.

Huh...didn't even think about that. I did plugs at like 110k. Had a friend help, since the dealer wanted close to $500 (labor only). They also had never replaced plugs on a BRZ since they hadn't seen any with my mileage yet.

I can't say I have any change in gas mileage, but there has been an issue lately where the car hesitates slightly on initial throttle input. Like I need to give it more gas than really necessary or it gets iffy. Thinking I might just throw fuel injector cleaner in at some point and see if that helps.
