Jaguar Ipace
Looks like I might be getting the wife one. It's like a Tesla Model X except the interior is the opposite of crap, as is the exterior, and the entire package is smaller than a house. Also no stupid wings.
|
Ordered. Might get an X for me. A business write off!
|
Wow, you've completely gone off the rocker haven't you?

ipace for the wife is on order. Model X I'm still not sure about. It would replace the Ram 1500. Still have the FR-S. Wanna come over and help me swap all the brake discs? |
If by "help" you actually mean "stand there and smoke joints while I watch you work", sure!

Here you go! Photon Red. An orangish red. Definitely stands out. Riding on 20s. I didn't want the 22s because of wheel damage. 0-60 in 4.5. Very nice inside.

Nice. Congrats!

Did they forget to take out those helper springs or whatever they use for transit? Nice 4x4. Needs moar low.

And I thought the twins had huge stock wheel gap...
|
20's are still absurd. I bet you could double the range with a lightweight set of wheels in say 17 or 18 inch range. And even with the stupid large wheels it looks like it has 2 feet of ground clearance.
But I bet it is 1000 times more reliable than a tesla could ever fantasize about being. |
I noticed the wheel gap in press photos too. Shocking. Heh, pun. The car looks like it would benefit from some side skirts and molding around the wheel wells. With a 2-3 inch drop it will look slightly more normal.
Of note, I was reading an article on Jalopnik about VW's new MEB electric platform and all wheels for those cars will be sized 18-21 inches to add ground clearance for the batteries. So yea, we're officially entering the era of massive wheels. I'm assuming that is what Jaguar is doing: Lowering the risk of puncturing the batteries if you hit something on the highway or drive over a curb. |
