They looked pretty dang good. The fitment was great, Gaskets needed to be adjusted a bit to seal properly (Use a spray bottle after installing and make sure you don't feel any water coming into the back side). Also had to repin them since USDM has the Running and Flasher wires switched. (Youtube has instructions, just look up Repin BRZ tail light, it wont be the exact model, but close enough).

Got the same lights too! Which colours did you switch?

I just tried swapping yellow and green and it worked! The black and red stay the same.

They look great!

Compared to OEM

Just test fitted one of these on my BRZ to compare with '17+ OEM lights.

- Observations -
  • There is a noticeable difference in material quality and protruding sharp edges, but they got the fitment mostly right.
  • OEM has matte black finish on the inside of the lens, whereas these have a chrome finish.
  • Running light on the OEM is more uniformly lit, whereas these have some sections that appear darker. There is also a noticeable amount of light bleed coming from the top of the running light.
  • When pressing the brake, OEM seems to light up the running light brighter. That doesn't happen on these.

Here are pictures and videos to compare:

Did you notice a difference in brake light brightness or clarity?

I hope they don't get any moisture.

Similar brightness and clarity.

I was impressed how bright the sequential LEDs are, as I thought my Valenti Revos were very bright -- these are about the same.

Why does the bottom half of the red section not light up?

As seen in this video:

That's the reflector you're seeing. If you follow a 2017+ 86/BRZ with your lights on, it will look as if that section of the taillight is lit.

Well considering these were sent on the weekend, I paid no import duty either and arrived today..... so well chuffed. Came well packaged and wrapped too, gaskets are also attached.

How is the quality now? Would you still recommend?

Quality on them is pretty good. Compared it side by side with a 2017 and no major differences. Only difference that you can spot is the chrome looks a little cheaper inside than OEM.

I would confirm the same as @iFunner. Really the genuine way of determining quality is in 6 month to a year when more people have them and have been through some season cycles.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like the upper running lights get brighter with the brake like the OEMs.

Correct. I've noted this in my observations above. The turn signals however, are of similar brightness.
