Thought I'd see if I can make these go a little more worldwide as I'm trying to get back into my DJing. If you're into house or bass style music, what I do might be your thing. Here's the couple I've recorded this past month. Full SoundCloud link in the header.

Maybe learn to play an actual instrument if you're interested in making music?

I know.. obnoxious statement... but ..well.. I am what I am. Obviously, what you do ain't my thing and, as a musician (not a singer/lip syncer/dancer or computer progamming MIDI/Loops/DAW-reliant product of the media) what has happened to my art over the decades really depresses me, at least as it applies to mass market product.

On the other hand, we are all free to pursue what we wish to pursue, and to define art and music as we wish. No malice intended, and best to you. DJs have totally taken over the wedding and private party scene, but in no small part because pop music is almost all totally programmed and studio-created anyway and is almost impossible to recreate with live musicians playing live, un-sequenced, acoustic instruments, so it was inevitable. It's not the fault of DJs.

Awesome! I love it!!! I saw TROY BOI (along with a huge list of other artists) at the eclipse festival last year, Such an epic time!

Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Good luck!

If this doesn't look like your scene, you probably won't like the music either.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Not my thing but at least it ain't Country!

Only problem I have is that Kode looks just like my 8th grade math teacher and that freaks me out a bit!

For example this original below which sounds like DJing can be played back with a real instrument because it was purposely composed to begin with and not in random.

I've been DJing since I was 16/17. I tried instruments as a kid and not my thing, but somehow I found my home behind the turntables despite thinking I was not musically gifted. I love my music and an absolute passion and I think that DJing has it's own skillset and is an art in it's own right. Here in the UK we have probably the best dance music scene in the world and I have seen some fabulous artists DJ poorly and some DJs perform like it was live played using the many tools now available which has been the performance of the night. That said, I admire anyone who can play an instrument well. I don't think the 2 have to be enemies either, I don't see one as a replacement for the other. Dance music is also now becoming increasingly played live and incredibly well. One that always stuck in my head in Roni Size, an amazing Drum'n'Bass DJ and producer but my favourite set I've seen was played live by him and his band.

One one hand, I think it's sad that live local music is almost universally dead.

On the other hand, the utter vast majority of "local bands" are so utterly awful it's difficult to hold it against people for avoiding it whenever possible.

Well I haven't updated this in a while. New links and image in OP and a new mix that I have somehow managed to fit around everything else in this crazy time.....

Here's a 30 minute uplifting house mix that is also a entry for a Mixmag competition:

Or if you like to have a laugh, you can watch below:

Well some more updates - going a little competition mad to give me some decent time out at the moment.....

Kodename47 - Defected Virtual Festival Competition Mix [Mixcloud]

Video here - still experimenting with cameras and editing:

Kodename47 - Mixmag Lockdown Tech House Mix [Soundcloud]
30 minutes of tech house, getting into some darker beats than above

Video here - created my own into and more editing and cam changes:

Kodename47 - Thirty3Hz House & Tech Mix [Soundcloud]
A 60+ minute mix designed to take you on a ride. Full range of feel good and uplifting house to some dark and techy sounds. Designed to make you move and smile in you living room as much as the club. I really enjoyed making this as I haven't recorded a journey mix in some time and I think it flows well. No video on this one.
