$400 seems a little expensive. Has anybody found an aftermarket replica or different version?

Nope, only option at the moment are the japanese OEM/STI lights.

I’m doing the bumper conversion soon I’m honestly disappointed, why not have Day time running lights as a factory option in the USA model of the car and only a JDM thing plus where the DTRL are in the JDM front end it doesn’t even look that great , I’ll have to ground my wiring harness for the DTRL which honestly I hate since I’m a perfectionist but ohh well things you have to give up for a newer look .

I read these are not as bright at the oem 17 BRZ Drls, very disappointing.

These are very bright. I've driven behind and in front of a BRZ with them installed at night. The beams cut across the road very distinctly. I was pretty surprised.

I had these installed on my last BRZ. Loved the look.

@johan ...I have seen Jay's car, and the 17+ bumper and these lights are a great combo.

Well yes running a daytime running light at night will be pretty bright. But they’re still not as bright as the 17 lights drls which you can see in the above pics.

Still OEM fresh tho.

What are the new DRLs? The boomerangs?

How did you wire yours if you don't mind me asking. Did you use the supplied jdm wiring harness?

I don't mind spending the $400.00 on them using PayPal credit. Do they match the boomerang DRLs in color temperature?

I basically cut the JDM harness in half. The harness goes from 4 wires into 2 wire, after the transition I cut the harness. From there I took the ground wire from the now cut harness added a terminal and grounded it to a bolt in the engine bay. Then I took the power wire from the harness into the cabin and used a fuse tap to tap it into the DRL fuse which is under the steering wheel. It's a 90% solution. The DRLs don't function exactly like the normal boomerangs. The JDM DRLs only run when the engine is running. and don't turn off with the hand brake.

If you want exactly the same behavior as the boomerang DRLs. You would ground wire in similar way as above. Then tap the power into the headlight wire that powers the DRLs. I didn't want to do this because the headlight wiring is not exposed. So you would have to cut open wiring loom.

If you need more detail let me know.
