Welcome to the forum.
Reliable and looks... Ok. How about grip and budget? With such subjective requirements, not sure what to suggest. You may think a tire I like looks bad. |
I don't think there is a modern performance tire that doesn't look decent. OK maybe I could Google ugly performance tires LOL.
Never considered cosmetics in my tire purchases. However I read some literature on the PS4 recently discussing the sidewall pattern being laser cut for good looks. |

What exactly do you not like about the stock ones? What do you use your car for? Just a daily driver? Autox? Track? |
Just changed my tires on a new 2018 BRZ from Primacy HP's to Michelin PS4S and kept stock rims. The OEM Primacies were better than some of the comments here make them out to be. However, if you do push them with some aggressive driving, they will give way much sooner than higher performance tires. If you like to drift, the Primacies can be a lot of fun. If you like stick, you might want to change. If you just have a daily driver, I'm not convinced it makes a whole lot of difference. I occasionally like to go on the twisties and push a bit, so I just feel safer with the upgraded tires. That said, the 4S's I bought were the same price as new Primacy HP's. The other factor is cost. You won't get squat for the Primacies since they are used tires, so it will cost you to upgrade unless the OEM's are used up.

Do you daily your car? Do you have something else to drive when the weather gets bad?

how do you use your car?
People on here love to complain. Personally I like the stock tires. They give enough grip but can slide around a bit too, which to me is more fun. Too much grip is boring unless you plan on going to autocross or the track frequently, or have some amazing roads that the cops ignore so you can go crazy fast. Of course my car is more a toy and sometimes a dd. I haven't had the chance to go on a track because unfortunately they are too far away for my tastes. |
For reliability, Michelin tires are known to be top quality, which you already have. For the looks, I suggest saving your money until you are ready to replace the tires and wheels together and deciding exactly what you want.

I use Hankook EVO2 V12 tires in the stock size. They suit the car really well IMO. Much better grip than the stock Michelins, this tire is comparable with the Michelin PSS, significantly cheaper. I got mine for $480 installed. While the grip is higher, the car still slides on demand, and the higher grip makes the breakaway more predictable and easier to control the slide.

Best bang for buck,
Continental Extreme Contact Sport (Summer and successor to DW) Competes directly with Michelin PSS All Seasons Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 If you want the best of the best, Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Michelin pilot sport 4S (Newer) |

In my opinion the sidewalls on the continental extreme contacts are too soft for this car, but it's a good choice if you want something comfortable. |
