HELP!!! Should I Buy?

1 Attachment(s)
Hello, I'm considering on buying a BRZ, most of them are around 12K euro here, but this one is 5K. The car starts and runs, the only damage by the looks of it is the front, and the airbags are shot on the steering wheel and pasenger panel. Is it worth the buy and fix? Anyone got a rough idea of price to fix? Its a 2013 if that changes anything. Doesnt seem like it would be too difficult. Thank You in advance.

How do you know the engine ain't fukd? Or anything else? I wouldn't touch the thing if the airbags were deployed

Price the airbag replacement. I can see 6K in repairs.

What could be rather cheap to fix here could be expensive as hell in Lithuania. I would be checking on parts costs there and not relying on what people in the US say.

Does titling in Lithuania work the same way it does here in the States?

If so, was the car written off? If yes, in my opinion, it is probably not worth it as the potential exists to spend more money with this vehicle than purchasing a good-conditioned and fully-functional used model with a clean history (e.g., higher cost of insurance, limited insurance options, damage you cannot see until you rip it apart only after you've forked the money over, significantly lower resale value even once the repairs are completed.) At least stateside, I've observed that damage on these vehicles adds up very fast!

I would say jump on it, just don't hate me if it turns out to be shit. :scared0016:

Its been shipped here from the states if im not mistaken.
Never worked on one od these so i dont know if there are any electronics or stuff like that in the bumper that might have broken as well or if its just the bumper. it is fishy that its half the price. The bumper, hood and wing couldnt add up to. more than 1.5k i imagine, yet no idea how much the airbag repair would cost

impossible to tell just from the pics...the 86 twins do not have any electronics in the bumper but keep in mind everything on this platform is rather thin and will easily get bent or pushed out place..despite the engine running, I would not be surprised if there's quite a bit of damage under the hood especially considering the bags went off...

if this is a project car might be worth it, otherwise if it is your daily probably not worth the headache..

Firstly welcome to this forum from the land of Jonas Valenciunas!

If you want to enjoy your vehicle without tons of headaches, avoid that car!

If you were a body shop guy in the US it might be cost effective to fix, but as a write off car the resale will always be shit.

Like the old saying "if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is".
If the price seems fishy you may want to dig deeper. Just the shipping costs from the US should push the price up.

The damage doesnt looks too bad from the pictures. However like others have said the cost for parts for this car is rather high. If you dont mind using aftermarket parts for some things that will bring the repair cost down significantly. The most expensive thing to fix will be the airbags. Since they went off both seatbelts will need to be replaced, also when the steering wheel airbag goes off the clockspring also needs to be replaced, as well as the airbag control module. The cost alone to fix the airbags will be over 2k. If you plan on keeping this car for a long time it might be worth it. I also am unaware of how common these cars are over there so that could play a factor because you may have a difficult time finding another one for a decent price. As long as the engine isnt damaged and its not leaking any fluids I say go for it, particularly if the BRZ is hard to come by there. I'd put the total repair cost somewhere around 10k U.S Dollars or around 8.3k Euro.

Nice to know someones heard of the lonely place im from :party0030: Didn't imagine the cost of airbag repair would be so much, these cars are well rare here, probably like 15 in the whole country, so parts would cost a pretty penny.. Thank You everyone for your input, ill consider it but if i do pull the trigger ill be sure to update on here :)
