Do you ever get used to steering by wire,

I have about 3,000 miles in the car so far and still haven't gotten used to the lack of road feedback in the steering. Or is it there and I just don't feel it? I don't think so.

Not steering by wire. It is just an electric motor assist. Not really different from any power steering other than the power source.

I was under the impression that the 86 doesn't have steer by wire?

I don't believe there are any production steer by wire cars.

Oh, I feel the steering in my 2013 FR-S gives me just the right amount of road feedback ...... :iono:

Drive by wire throttle.

Benefit, when you press the pedal half way down you are flooring it. Is that a benefit??

With Ecutek one of the features is that it usually defaults scale to a mechanical throttle feel, 50% is actually 50%. At first it felt like the car was slower, but on the track I could better appreciate how important is is to modulate the throttle. Same thing Cobb does with their Accessport.

Electric steering can be dead-feeling, but our car is better than many if not most systems I've encountered up to and including far more expensive cars.

If you feel like there is some feedback missing from the road, you can always grab some wider wheels/tires. I detect a lot more with my 17x9 summer setup vs. my winter setup on the OEM wheels.

This vehicle does not have steer by wire.
You are directly linked to the electric power steering rack through the steering input shaft.
/thread.

it is totally and completely against the rules to ever end any thread. Instead we take it far off topic and talk about random stuff just for entertainment. Seriously, most threads more than a page or two are way off topic the op brought up.

That's totally untrue.
