Help With Front Intake Cover
 

Hey guys, looking for some insight.

I have a 2017 BRZ and im looking to replace the so called "moustache" on the front bumper.
I've dug around and I think i've found the part I need but no pictures make me hesitant to order.
All the dealers around me do not have it in stock and will only order with it fully paid for with no returns.

When looking at the diagram, there are two parts pertaining to the front intake cover (57731M).

Taking an educated guess, the cheaper part is going to be the tow hook cover while the more expensive part is the entire cover itself.


If anyone has ordered part 57731CA590 which seems to be the front intake cover, please let me know! Or if I'm completely wrong let me know as well!

That website lists 57731CA590 as only fitting '17-'18 STI models, while the 57731CA450 appears to cover every other trim level. It would appear that the distinct difference seen on STI's would attribute to that part number and price difference. I'd put money on the cheaper 57731CA450 being the replacement you are looking for.

Both parts include the cover and the tow hook cover, btw.

Any idea what separates the STI from the regular brz covers? From the looks of it i only see the difference of the addition of the TS badging but that is bought and attached separately.

I would only be speculating as I haven't seen one in person. Being your concern is that you have to pay for it in full with no returns, I'd order the one specifically listed to fit your vehicle and make sure the dealership agrees that it is listed as such.

Someone else might have more knowledge on what is different with the STI one (perhaps it's a slight design or material difference) and could alleviate your concerns. If not, though, I'd stick with the 450. Too many times have I tried to be slick and get a "nicer" version of replacement parts just to find a mundane difference that made me regret it.
