R2C cold air intake thoughts?

Dont think Ive seen this posted yet. If it is sorry, I couldnt find it.

Im looking into getting a CAI and R2C is making some pretty heft claims on their site. I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or has any thoughts on it.

Here is the site page: http://www.r2cperformance.com/toyota...ir-intake.aspx

Please and thank you.http://www.r2cperformance.com/assets...10559L%20m.jpg

Doesn't look ground breaking imo. I've read decent things about the skunk2 intake

Buy it for the bling factor, pretty much any drop in performance filter equals in gains for less money.

If it was me and wanted to speend mad cash I'll go with the TRD intake. Just because over time everyone and their momma would kill for anything TRD or HKS.

I have only seen that advertised on ebay.

I would go with proven performanxe products before that.

They really didn't take much time to spruce up the engine used in their pictures did they? Pretty dirty in there!

I would say pretty much this. If you’re really going for performance, people have had relatively good results with just the filters compared to a cai setup. I would also say look at the Grimmspeed intake threads on here. Even if you don’t get that one they have done a lot of R&D with different setups that lead to their product. Their intake, according to some dynos posted on this forum (too lazy to search), had proven gains throughout the powerband. The drop in filters from what Grimmspeed was saying, had the AFRs running lean up top too and only provided peak HP. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong)

Take what these dynos say with a grain of salt. You’re not gonna get +15whp from any of these.

My vote is for Grimmspeed or injen revolution intakes as I’ve seen they are the more popular intakes if you absolutely need to have an intake.
