Ecutek Launch Control Question(s)

After my tune was done it did not appear to have multiple maps as I was told it would and it definitely does not have launch control enabled. I tried the first gear full throttle and it does not work at all.
I reviewed the software and none of the launch control check boxes are checked.

My question is; can I just go in and enable launch control Rev limit base, or do I need to worry about all the other launch control items?
Rev limit delta
Rev limit hysteresis
Launch control afr stationary target
Max engage speed
Ignition timing adjustment...
Adjustment options
Adjustment increment

Id like to just enable the rev limit to 4k and call it good, but this is sketchy and I'd hate to blow up my car for launch control (hyperbole I hope).

Thanks for any help in advance.

Did your tuner leave the ROM unlocked? If they did that and you purchased RaceROM, you can enable launch control features. Navigate to Maps by Function > RaceROM Special Features > Launch Control and configure your settings from there. You will also need to turn on launch control per map under the Enable Special Features options. Check out page 12 of the RaceROM features guide for configuration info. https://ecutek.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/...eatures-Manual

Ok

If tune is unlocked you can just tick the launch control box and use standard setting it will be fine.

Inless you have racerom extension software you wont see maps 2,3,4 even if they exist

I think you can still change the launch ffs and auro blip on the four maps if enavles but tou cannot access timing and fuel ing maps or racrom maps without racerom extension

Thanks guys!

I reached out to HRI and he was able to help me.

I didn't realize how sensitive it is.

You have to make sure to put the clutch pedal ALL the way down, and then put it in first, then push the throttle to 100% or it won't work. It's touchy as hell, but it does work now that I am used to how to use it.

So basically, user error here.

Yep
Ecutek car needs to be stationary not rolling forwards or backwards
Clutch fully depressed
Accelerator needs to go quickly to 100%, if you press it slowly launch wont engage.

It doesn't give a toss about gear as it doesn't know what gear you in, gear is calculated from speed vs rpm theirs no hardware switch. At speed =0 its all same. also with clutch in speed vs rpm is irrelevant

I was used to oft where it just limits revs under 6mph. Newb mistake, but happy it works after all!

so i ecutek racerom, the map "Launch control max speed" is actually useless? if car needs to be stationary..

Unless it allows a rev limiter, I would think that is useless. It is very specific, haha. Clutch has to be fully depressed, and you need to floor it, so 100% throttle or it will just rev to redline and make you look dumb.

Honestly, it is better this way. I had the OFT and you're stuck with whatever you choose, so there is no way to easily rev to redline or other RPM. With Ecutek you can launch control, or rev freely, so it is better imo. It's just a pita to get used to and the smallest mistake will = looking like a dummy.

my understanding is the launch control max speed is speed the launch control stops working after launch (ie end of launch function), theirs also a "ramp" for how quick the rpm limit is returned.

but to get into initial launch mode car needs to be stationary.
and it also detects clutch switch and throttle pedal position.

OFT launch is way simpler it just detects speed, if under speed launch limit is active, does not detect clutch or throttle or have a ramp out of rpm.

cool i understood finally what is the launch control max engage speed for.. would be cool if it worked also when not stationary :/ just to make some revs during low speed cruising hhehe

what i dont understand is the ramp table..
