*** ATTENTION ALL VENDORS - CLASSIFIEDS SECTION RULES!! READ OR RISK BAN ***

Here are the rules for the commercial classifieds section:
  • 1) You may not create multiple (more than 1) threads for the same item in the same classifieds section.
  • 2) You must list a price for the product/service - may be actual selling price, MSRP, or MAP (but may ask to be PM'd for discounts).
  • 3) Do not comment on any other vendor/sponsor's company, products, or services. Stick to discussing only your own. This applies forum-wide and not just the classifieds.

Failure to comply with any of these rules will result in warnings/infractions and eventual ban if continued.

* This list will be updated periodically so it's your obligation to review and comply on a continuing basis with it.

** We encourage all members and vendors to report any violations of these by using the Report Post feature (exclamation point icon in each post) so that we can keep the classifieds an efficient and pleasant section to browse

Is there a limit on the total number of threads each vendor can have active at any time? That would help limit all of this clutter. Such as 2 active threads per for sale forum per vendor, or 6 overall, etc.

Thanks Hachi! Great to see some rules.

The only limit in place is that it can only be listed once. Perhaps the vendors can have a mod close a previous thread so that they can re list an item.

Several vendors have one or two mega threads with everything in them, but then also have individual threads for several of the same items. It's gonna take a while to clean it all up, but I think everyone would generally prefer the mega threads, I'm guessing.

It's to prevent vendors from just looking at what each other are posting and under cutting by a dollar. Would be nice for us but annoying from the constant post edits.

Read vendors read!!

Rule #3 has been revised. Please review. Thank you.

New rule has been added for vendors/sponsors:

4) Do not comment on any other vendor/sponsor's company, products, or services. Stick to discussing only your own. This applies forum-wide and not just the classifieds

By banning a company like Titan Performance, you have removed one of the ways for their customers who have placed orders or preorders to contact them.

Jeremiah@MPG 07-31-2012 12:38 PM

They can go to their website or Google the contact info. If they were banned, there had to be a logical reason. I have dealt with Titan for many years, overall a pretty good company. But if we vendors want to be on here, we have rules we should follow.

I would sure like to see a rule to reduce the number of vendor-written DIYs that are blatant ads for their products. Or at least bumping those threads. Why a simple bolt-on install needs to be at the top of the DIY forum all the time is a mystery to me.

Also, rule #3 above seems to be either ambiguous or just completely ineffective. Almost no posts in the vendor forums have prices. What is the definition of a discount?

Hachiroku 10-11-2013 02:40 PM

It has come to my attention that certain sponsors are violating the daily post/bump limit.

You are expected to adhere to the post/bump limit (9 daily) whether or not the system physically limits you or not.

Failure on your part to do so will result in sponsorship termination.
