Retuning BRZ with HKS tune, OFT and OS wont read or write
 

Having an issue with my HKS blown ‘13 BRZ. I can’t read or write tunes with OFT or OS. It fails when it tries to unlock the ECU. Is this due to the HKS Flash Editor tune currently on the car? If so will the dealer be able to overwrite a stock file to it?

I have not seen a hks flash editor or tried to read\write an ecu used by hks editor

If tactrix or oft wont read it then its likely the kjs system changes the seed key access routine in ecu ie its locked. It likely if you wtire a stock rom bach to ecu with hks editor it will unlock scu again.

If you dont have the original hks editor box, then cheapest option is likely to replade ecu then write correct rom to new ecu with tactrix if you have access to one.
